LOGO BASICS

MEIKO basics

The company logo is a combination of a word mark and a figurative mark.
The word mark is MEIKO. The name is formed from the surnames of the company founders of 1927,
Oskar Meier and Franz Konrad.
The figurative mark is a fountain: a symbol of purity, cleanliness and renewal.
The text and image in the company logo were last modified in 1968.
The pictographic logo was simplified to become a "water fountain" in the shape of an M.

USE

Logo with guiding principle

The MEIKO logo accompanied by the MEIKO guiding principle is used in all external communications intended to sell.

The MEIKO guiding principle is not used with the MEIKO logo if the legibility of the guiding principle is not guaranteed.

This is also the case when MEIKO is communicating either internally or externally but not aiming to sell, e.g.

  • For information about high-value incentives
  • For certificates (anniversaries, awards, distinctions, etc.)
  • For obituaries
  • For greetings cards

etc.

VARIANTS

The MEIKO logo may only be reproduced in the variants and colours shown here.

M SYMBOL

The M fountain symbol from the MEIKO logo can be used separately from the MEIKO logo as a stylistic or design element, e.g. for product branding, corporate clothing, branding images, etc. However, it does not replace the full logo.

The alignment, proportion and perspective of the M symbol must not be changed.

The M fountain symbol should only be used with the dominant or secondary MEIKO colours.

See the section Corporate Colours.

ARCHITECTURE/SIZE

The logo architecture may not be changed, with or without the guiding principle.

Any change in logo size must be achieved by scaling the master logo in proportion:

  • MEIKO_Logo
  • MEIKO_Logo_claim_int

The minimum size of the logo with or without the guiding principle is 17.5 mm in width for print materials. This corresponds to a scaling of 50% of the master logo.

In digital media the minimum width is 85 px in the version with the guiding principle or 65 px without the guiding principle to ensure readability.

The logo's protected area is the minimum area around the logo to be kept clear.

The protected area is the space needed to prevent interference with the effect of the logo by adjacent design elements. This ensures that the logo will be recognised quickly and easily.

The protected area for the logo has been set at a minimum of 6 mm (print) or 15 px (digital) from the master logo, MEIKO_Logo_claim_int.

When the logo is scaled up or down, the protected area is also scaled in proportion.

FORMAT IN TEXT

MEIKO is always written in capital letters in headings, sublines and copy text. Press releases are an exception to this rule.
When used in conjunction with the MEIKO guiding principle, The clean solution, text is displayed as shown.

This is how we continue to develop MEIKO technologies. That is what we mean when we say: MEIKO – The clean solution.
